Augmenta Named One of Fast Company’s 2026 Next Big Things in Tech

Augmenta has been named in Fast Company’s 2026 Next Big Things in Tech.

The annual list recognizes technologies that will change how whole industries work. Fast Company called out Augmenta's use of propriatery spatial AI to generate 3D electrical system designs, which cuts the time and effort contractors spend modeling complex building systems.

Fast Company recognized Augmenta “for reducing waste and augmenting bottom lines.” The write-up cites one of our earliest beta projects, an elementary school in 2024, where the team cut material waste by 15% and design time by 25%. We’re proud of that project. And it's worth noting that those results came from an early version of the platform, and the changed dramatically in the last 2 years.

E-J Electric’s results on a 1M+ sq ft data center

E-J Electric Installation Co., an ENR Top 50 contractor based in Long Island City, recently used the Augmenta Construction Platform (ACP) on a 1M+ square foot hyperscale data center. Initial model population was estimated at about 693 hours. The E-J team finished it in 82 hours leveraging ACP, which made the workflow 8.5x faster than traditional methods.

On a data center, the model drives procurement, logistics, fabrication and install, so every week it takes to populate is a week the rest of the job waits on. Tom Kregel, Executive Vice President at E-J Electric, explained where the saved hours went: “By automating time-intensive modeling tasks, our teams can focus on coordination, shop drawings, and prefabrication, allowing us to deploy larger numbers of field craft earlier in the project.”

That’s the point for BIM and VDC teams. Modelers don’t spend hours routing conduit and laying out racks by hand when their real value is in coordination and getting the raceway system model ready for fabrication. You can read more in our write-up on E-J’s results and in the full press release.

How ACP fits

ACP uses propriatery spatial AI to design building systems with the precision construction requires. It helps VDC teams analyze 3D environments and obstructions, generate routing options and adjust those routes as conditions change on the project. Because it works with the actual geometry, constraints and constructability needs of each job, the model is built for efficiency and buildability from the start. Today, ACP is being used on large, mission-critical projects across the U.S.

Thank you to Fast Company for the recognition, and to our customers, partners and the whole Augmenta team for helping build a new future for one of the world’s oldest industries.
