The international recognition follows a year of proven performance in eliminating systematic waste and significantly reducing construction design time

Toronto – January 14, 2026 — Augmenta, the leading spatial AI design platform for construction, has been named on Cleantech Group’s 2026 Global Cleantech 100. This annual list recognizes companies delivering market-ready solutions that advance a cleaner, more resilient global future. Now in its 17th year, the report highlights innovators addressing some of the world’s most urgent environmental and infrastructure challenges.
Augmenta is being recognized for transforming the built environment - the industry responsible for 40% of global energy consumption and 30% of the world’s resources. Typically a third of a building’s materials are wasted due to overdesign and manual preconstruction errors, a systemic failure that Augmenta’s autonomous design platform will eliminate.
By applying spatial AI to critical building systems, and starting with electrical before expanding to structural and mechanical, Augmenta is ensuring that every building is designed sustainably by default. The platform enables contractors to move from a set of specifications to a fully constructible, code-compliant plan in hours, enabling teams to work 3x faster than manual processes.
“Construction is the next frontier for the AI revolution, and the stakes couldn't be higher for our climate,” said Francesco Iorio, CEO and co-founder, Augmenta. “This recognition for our work in democratizing sustainable design communicates and celebrates the long-term impact that Augmenta’s platform will have on construction. Our goal is to ensure that every building - whether a hospital, data center, school or another piece of critical infrastructure - is holistically designed to be energy efficient, and built faster, more affordably, and with no unnecessary waste.”
Augmenta’s inclusion on 2026’s list follows a year of significant commercial momentum. The company announced the completion of Mt. Hope Elementary in Lansing, Michigan, last August, with subsequent commercial projects afterwards that have demonstrated exponential performance leaps. C&R Electric, the contractor for the schools, slashed design time by 75% (from ~350 hours to 80), and cut material waste by 25%.
“The 2026 Global Cleantech 100 arrives at a pivotal moment. Around the world, governments and industries are no longer innovating for efficiency alone—they are innovating for durability. This year’s honorees reflect that shift,” said Anthony DeOrsey, Research Manager, Cleantech Group. “Whether securing critical minerals, strengthening the grid, transforming industrial processes, or unlocking new value through AI, these companies are redefining resilience.”
