At Augmenta, we create software for the construction industry that fully automates the design of buildings - completely transforming the industry and empowering architects, engineers, contractors and developers. We’ve already built and delivered incredible software, and now we need your help to develop our first product and deliver it to market.

The role

We’re looking for a Software Development Manager to join our team at Augmenta. In this role, you will be important to our success, able to balance customer needs and engineering requirements.

We are looking for an individual with strong organization and communication skills who can succeed at both leading technical projects and people management. You should be as enthusiastic about building and motivating a team as you are about the challenging technical problems that you and your team will solve.

You will be responsible for managing individual team members. This will include regular 1:1 sessions, mentoring and coaching, individual development plans and performance feedback.

What you will do

  • Manage one or more distributed teams of software developers, providing both technical and managerial leadership
  • Collaborate with product leaders on realizing the product vision and strategy
  • Organize and track software development activities to continually make progress on the product roadmap
  • Communicate the status of projects to internal stakeholders
  • Participate in customer meetings to maintain an awareness of their priorities
  • Support the Agile development process within the team.
  • Work with individual team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Support individual training and career development.

About you

  • 5+ years of technical work experience in software development
  • Experience in a software development leadership role
  • Ability to break down complex problems into user-focused solutions
  • Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities, and ability to adapt in a flexible and fast paced environment
  • Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills; able to  work with and collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of principles involved in the development of scalable, performant software, leveraging hardware and software solutions

  • Any experience with the construction industry, and in particular an understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems

Our location

Our team is remote-first and fully distributed! We have team members across Canada, the US, Italy, and South Africa. This means that we often collaborate asynchronously via Slack and Video Conferencing.
