At Augmenta, we create software for the construction industry that fully automates the design of buildings - completely transforming the industry and empowering architects, engineers, contractors and developers. We’ve already built and delivered incredible software, and now we need your help to develop our first product and deliver it to market.

The role

We’re looking for a Cloud Solutions Engineer to join our team at Augmenta. You will be expected to wear many hats: AWS Architect, backend engineer, making sure development is taking scalable and secure approaches. You will provide a pragmatic “best practices” approach, which should be demonstrated in previous work experiences.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering.

What you will do

• Configure web infrastructure and applications
• Plan and upgrade the infrastructure and products
• Make sure infrastructure is able to support highly structured data
• Work closely with development and devops
• Ensure compliance to security risks
• Recommend and implement tools for performance, security and availability

About you

• 1+ years experience with Docker and container orchestration systems (AWS ECS, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Amazon Web Services strongly recommended (ECS. RDS, IAM, EKS)
• Linux administration experience (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
• Python and Go experience
• Clear communication
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

Nice to have

• Certification in AWS such as Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer.
• Well versed in DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP networking and security

Our team is remote-first and fully distributed! We have team members across Canada, the US, Italy, and other locations around the world. This means that we often collaborate asynchronously via Slack and Video Conferencing.
